WestJet has expanded its codeshare agreements with Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to provide more European travel options for passengers connecting through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. This move allows travelers to book a single itinerary with smoother connections and easier baggage transfers to 59 destinations across Europe.
“As part of our commitment to flying Canadians where they want to go, these expanded partnerships provide WestJet guests with more options to explore 59 sought-after European destinations this summer,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet Director of Airport Affairs and Alliances. “With WestJet’s recent transatlantic network expansions, guests travelling from across the country will benefit from more choice and convenience when travelling through Paris and Amsterdam. For guests originating in, or connecting through Atlantic Canada in particular, these enhancements are a gamechanger – offering guests travelling from or through Halifax and St. John’s more destinations, fewer layovers and convenient access to Europe.”
New access points across Atlantic Canada
Travelers flying with WestJet from Halifax to Amsterdam can now connect to 14 destinations across Europe via KLM. The extended access includes routes to cities in Italy, Portugal, and France, giving travelers from Atlantic Canada more direct travel options with fewer stopovers. This expanded network supports smoother journeys for passengers using Halifax or St. John’s as their point of origin or transfer.

The updated list of destinations from Halifax through Amsterdam includes Brussels in Belgium, Prague in Czechia, and Helsinki in Finland. WestJet guests can also fly onward to Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice, Rennes, and Toulouse in France. In Italy, the connections now reach Bologna, Florence, and Milan-Linate, while Portugal links include Lisbon and Porto.
These routes, made possible through the codeshare with KLM, offer WestJet guests a seamless travel experience, including baggage transfers and WestJet Rewards accumulation for the entire journey.
More options available via Paris
Passengers traveling from Calgary, Halifax, and St. John’s can also access four more European cities through Air France’s network from Paris Charles de Gaulle. This expansion strengthens the reach of WestJet’s transatlantic services and supports improved convenience for passengers in both eastern and western parts of Canada.

The new cities accessible through Paris include Bucharest in Romania, Budapest in Hungary, and Prague in Czechia, as well as Bologna in Italy. With these added connections, WestJet travelers now have access to over 50 destinations in Europe through Air France’s hub in Paris.
This development supports easier international travel for Canadians by enabling access to more cities without complex layovers. Guests also benefit from the ability to manage their full journey through one booking and enjoy more consistent service throughout their trip.
WestJet’s expanded partnerships with Air France and KLM offer travelers from Canada, especially those flying from Halifax, Calgary, and St. John’s, more access to European destinations through Amsterdam and Paris. With new connections to 59 cities across Europe and seamless booking and baggage options, passengers gain more flexibility and ease when traveling abroad.
