Ryanair Connects Bournemouth to Fuerteventura

Ryanair has introduced a new Summer 2025 route, connecting Bournemouth with Fuerteventura. The airline’s first flight on this route took off on Tuesday, April 1st. Ryanair plans to operate two flights per week as part of its Summer 2025 schedule. This offers UK travelers more options for their summer getaways, with a focus on low fares.

Ryanair’s Comms Director, Jade Kirwan, said, “Ryanair is pleased to see the first flight of our new Summer 2025 route from Bournemouth to Fuerteventura take-off today (Tue, 1 Apr), carrying lots of happy holidaymakers and marking the beginning of the Summer 2025 season. This exciting new Summer 2025 route will operate 2 times per week, offering our UK customers even more choice at the lowest fares when booking their summer getaways.”

Fuerteventura is one of 21 destinations that Ryanair serves to and from Bournemouth Airport this summer. Passengers can book all of Ryanair’s Bournemouth routes on the airline’s website.

Ryanair Stance on UK Aviation Tax

While the new Bournemouth to Fuerteventura route is a positive development for UK passengers, Ryanair believes it could expand its UK operations even more. The airline criticizes the UK government’s Air Passenger Duty (APD) tax. Ryanair’s Comms Director, Jade Kirwan, expressed concern about the impact of the APD tax.

Ryanair believes that the APD tax, increased by £2 per passenger, hinders growth prospects, particularly for regional UK airports. The airline argues that the UK government should eliminate the APD tax. Ryanair contends that the APD tax makes the UK uncompetitive compared to European countries.

Ryanair points out that countries like Hungary, Ireland, and Sweden, as well as regions in Italy, are abolishing aviation taxes. The airline claims that these tax reductions lead to increased traffic, tourism, and job creation, while the UK’s APD tax works against those goals.

In essence, Ryanair has launched a new route between Bournemouth and Fuerteventura, but the airline remains vocal about its concerns regarding the UK’s APD tax and its impact on the airline’s potential growth in the UK.
