PAL Unveils Special Dessert Selection for Its Anniversary

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is celebrating its 84th anniversary by introducing a special dessert selection that reflects the rich flavors and culture of the Philippines. From March 15 to May 31, passengers on select routes can enjoy these exclusive desserts, which aim to highlight the country’s culinary heritage and offer a unique in-flight experience.

Business class passengers flying to North American destinations, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York, can enjoy the Trio Bite-Sized Dessert Plate. This dessert trio features the Classic Leche Flan Topped With Cantaloupe Syrup, Candied Orange, and Coconut Cream; the Southern Chocolate Ganache Cake Slice; and the Pacencia With Mango Butter Cream Filling.

The leche flan, a staple in Filipino celebrations, is the local version of crème caramel. It is made with egg yolks, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. For its anniversary offering, PAL adds a creative twist by making the flan creamier and enhancing it with slow-simmered cantaloupe syrup, white chocolate topping, and a layer of crushed mango.

The Southern Chocolate Ganache Cake Slice offers a smooth and decadent chocolate experience. It is made using premium cacao beans grown and sourced from skilled artisans in Davao. The Pacencia With Mango Butter Cream Filling, on the other hand, consists of delicate Filipino meringue cookies filled with a butter cream made from the Philippines’ world-renowned mangoes.

As an alternative, business class passengers flying to North America can opt for the classic Filipino dessert halo-halo, which is a mix of sweetened fruits, various toppings, and milk. They also have the option to pair their dessert with a cheese platter or ice cream.

On routes to Honolulu and Australia, business class passengers can enjoy the Southern Chocolate Ganache Cake Slice, which is also served with a cheese platter or ice cream. This offering gives travelers a taste of Filipino craftsmanship, even while flying overseas.
