American Airlines and Qantas are expanding their services between the United States and Australia, offering travelers more options to connect across the Pacific.
Starting October 26, 2024, American Airlines will launch a seasonal nonstop flight from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to Brisbane Airport (BNE). This route marks American’s longest nonstop flight, covering approximately 8,300 miles. Initially operating five times a week, the service will increase to daily flights from December through March. The airline will utilize its newly designed Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 51 Flagship Suite® seats and 32 Premium Economy seats.
This new service is expected to bring up to 62,000 international visitors to Queensland over three years, contributing approximately $113 million to the local economy and creating up to 690 jobs.

Qantas Enhances U.S. Connectivity
Qantas is set to increase its U.S. capacity by approximately 13% in 2025. Starting February 6, 2025, the airline will increase its Melbourne (MEL) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) flights from three to four times weekly. Additionally, from August 2025, Qantas will reintroduce the Airbus A380 on its Sydney (SYD) to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) route, offering more premium seating options.
The A380 aircraft will operate four times weekly, complementing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, which will continue to serve the route on the remaining days. The A380 features 14 first-class seats, 70 business class seats, and 60 premium economy seats, providing passengers with enhanced comfort on the long-haul journey.

Expanded Network Through Partnership
The joint business partnership between American Airlines and Qantas offers travelers access to an extensive network connecting North America with Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. Passengers can connect from major U.S. gateways, including Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), and Vancouver (YVR), to key destinations such as Auckland (AKL), Brisbane (BNE), Melbourne (MEL), and Sydney (SYD). Through this partnership, travelers have access to over 200 destinations across the U.S. and nearly 70 destinations across Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
These enhancements in service and connectivity reflect the ongoing commitment of American Airlines and Qantas to provide travelers with more options and improved experiences when flying between the United States and Australia.
