Lufthansa is elevating its long-haul travel experience by introducing its new Allegris First-Class cabin. The upgraded interior, designed for added privacy and comfort, is now available on flights from Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai, and Bengaluru. The enhanced cabin product is also rolling out in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class on flights to New York-Newark by mid-April. From August, travelers flying to Charlotte will also have access to the upgraded cabin.
Since February, Lufthansa has been operating nine A350-900 aircraft featuring the new cabin design, with eight of them offering the enhanced First-Class suites. Nearly half a million travelers have already experienced the upgraded cabin. The airline is now set to begin retrofitting its current fleet with the Allegris design, starting with the Boeing 747-8.
“We are completely reinventing the Lufthansa First Class travel experience with Allegris and making it even more exclusive,” said Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer Lufthansa Airlines. “Our new First Class, with its unique suites, defines the concept of privacy like never before and is unrivaled worldwide. We are also investing in exclusivity and comfort on the ground by completely redesigning our First Class check-in areas and lounges in Munich and Frankfurt.”

The Allegris First-Class offers travelers a choice between two private suites and the more spacious Suite Plus. Each individual suite features a nearly one-meter-wide seat that can be adjusted for heating or cooling. Designed for maximum privacy, the suites include ceiling-high walls and a lockable door. Passengers can enjoy entertainment on a screen up to 43 inches wide, paired with wireless over-ear headphones.
For added convenience, the suites have personal wardrobes, allowing travelers to change comfortably and keep their belongings within reach. Adjustable lighting also gives passengers the option to create a personalized and relaxing atmosphere.
The Suite Plus, designed for two travelers, features spacious seats that convert into a comfortable double bed. This double cabin creates a private, luxurious flying experience. Solo travelers also have the option to reserve the Suite Plus for exclusive use.
Beyond First-Class
Beyond the First-Class enhancements, Lufthansa is introducing new services for all passengers. Travelers departing from Frankfurt now have access to a convenient baggage collection and check-in service. The airline has also introduced Apple AirTag tracking, enabling passengers to monitor their luggage through Lufthansa’s digital baggage tracing channels.

Starting this summer, Lufthansa will offer unlimited free chatting on intercontinental flights. Regardless of travel class, passengers can send and receive unlimited messages, including photos, using their preferred apps throughout the flight.
As part of its “Future Onboard Experience” project, the airline is overhauling all service components on long-haul flights. This includes updated meal options, redesigned tableware, and upgraded pillows, blankets, and amenity kits. These improvements will be fully introduced in time for Lufthansa’s 100th anniversary next year.
Business Class passengers and frequent flyers are also set to benefit from the changes. Since late February, travelers on short- and medium-haul Business Class flights have enjoyed a new catering concept, offering a wider selection of hot and cold dishes. The airline has also renovated its lounges in Newark and London Heathrow, with plans to upgrade 30 more lounges this year.
