Korean Air Wins Airline of the Year 2025

Korean Air has been named Airline of the Year for 2025 by AirlineRatings.com, further cementing its position as a leading global carrier. The airline also secured Best Economy Class in the World’s Best Airline Cabin Class Awards and ranked eighth in the publication’s Top 25 Safest Full-Service Airlines in January.

AirlineRatings.com, an aviation-focused media outlet based in Australia, evaluated more than 350 airlines worldwide. The rankings were determined based on multiple factors, including safety, fleet age, passenger reviews, product quality, and environmental commitment. Korean Air stood out for its efforts to improve the passenger experience and its ongoing strategic developments, which contributed to its title as Airline of the Year for 2025.

The airline’s economy class earned high praise, with the publication recognizing its spacious seat configurations and attentive onboard service. Long-haul passengers benefit from a wide range of amenities, enhanced dining options, and an extensive inflight entertainment system.

One of the most notable features of Korean Air’s economy class is the Boeing 787-10, which includes industry-leading seats with a 120-degree recline and 13.3-inch high-resolution monitors. This combination enhances both comfort and entertainment for travelers, reinforcing their status as Airline of the Year for 2025.

Advancing Through Fleet Modernization

Korean Air continues to enhance its services through a strategic fleet modernization program. The addition of next-generation aircraft, such as the Airbus A350-900, A321neo, and Boeing 787-10, has expanded its network reach while improving operational efficiency and passenger comfort, solidifying its recognition as Airline of the Year 2025.

Beyond its investments in aircraft, the airline has also strengthened its business operations with the successful acquisition of Asiana Airlines. This merger marks one of the largest in Asia and positions Korean Air for long-term growth.

AirlineRatings.com CEO Sharon Petersen praised the airline’s achievements, stating, “Korean Air’s delivery of exceptional service across all cabin classes, from economy to premium, is backed by continuous investment in next-generation aircraft and fleet modernization. With the successful acquisition of Asiana Airlines, the airline has established a historic milestone in shaping its future. This achievement played a key role in Korean Air being named Airline of the Year 2025.”

This latest recognition adds to a growing list of awards for Korean Air. In 2024, the airline was ranked second in AirlineRatings.com’s Top 25 Airlines and received the title of Best Long-Haul Carrier in North Asia. Korean Air remains committed to innovation and service excellence as it continues to expand its global presence.
