KLM has announced the addition of three intercontinental routes to its global network, connecting Amsterdam to San Diego, Georgetown, and Hyderabad. These new services, set to launch in 2025, will provide travelers with more convenient options while strengthening KLM’s presence in North America, South America, and Asia.
San Diego
Starting May 8, 2025, KLM will introduce three weekly direct flights between Amsterdam and San Diego, marking the airline’s 22nd direct connection between Amsterdam and North America. The Californian city, known for its favorable climate, extensive coastline, and thriving business sectors, represents a growing market for the Air France-KLM partnership with Delta and Virgin Atlantic.
Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays using a Boeing 787-9, featuring 30 World Business Class seats, 21 Premium Comfort Class seats, and 224 Economy Class seats.
- Flight KL639 departs Amsterdam Schiphol Airport at 9:50 a.m. and lands at San Diego International Airport at 12:00 p.m. local time.
- The return flight, KL640, departs San Diego at 1:55 p.m. local time, arriving in Amsterdam the following day at 9:15 a.m.
Georgetown
On June 4, 2025, KLM will launch its Amsterdam-Georgetown route with two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This new service, operated by an Airbus 330-200, includes a brief stopover in Sint Maarten on the outbound journey.
- Flight KL789 departs Amsterdam Schiphol Airport at 10:00 a.m., reaching Sint Maarten at 1:00 p.m. local time. After a short layover, the flight continues at 2:20 p.m., arriving in Georgetown at 4:35 p.m.
- The return leg departs Georgetown at 5:55 p.m. and arrives in Amsterdam the next day at 9:15 a.m.
Georgetown, the capital of Guyana, is known for its untouched natural beauty, ranging from coastal areas to rainforests and savannahs. The city has seen an increase in business traffic, further supporting KLM’s decision to connect the region.
Hyderabad
Starting September 2, 2025, KLM will introduce three weekly direct flights between Amsterdam and Hyderabad, India. The Boeing 777-200ER aircraft, equipped with 35 World Business Class seats, 24 Premium Comfort Class seats, and 229 Economy Class seats, will service this route on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
- Flight KL873 leaves Amsterdam at 11:40 a.m. and lands at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at 12:30 a.m. local time.
- The return flight, KL874, departs Hyderabad at 2:20 a.m. and arrives in Amsterdam the same day at 8:40 a.m.
