Saudia group’s Flyadeal orders ten Airbus A330neo

Flyadeal will soon welcome widebody aircraft into its fleet for the first time. Saudia Group confirmed an order for ten Airbus A330neo aircraft, paving the way for flyadeal to launch long-haul services and expand its international reach. The new aircraft are expected to improve comfort and boost travel capacity as the group moves closer to its goal of running the youngest fleet among low-cost airlines in the Middle East.

This widebody addition builds on a previous deal with Airbus that included 105 aircraft, announced in May 2024. Of those, 54 A321neo aircraft were assigned to flyadeal. Currently, flyadeal operates 37 A320 Family aircraft. Saudia, also under Saudia Group, flies 93 aircraft from the A320 and A330 range.

Supporting Vision 2030 targets

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at Airbus’ headquarters in Toulouse. His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, attended the event along with Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus; Saleh Eid, Vice President of Fleet Management and Agreements at Saudia Group; and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, EVP of Sales Commercial Aircraft at Airbus.

His Excellency Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar stated: “This deal marks a pivotal milestone in our ambitious strategy to modernise and expand our fleet. It builds on last year’s historic deal with Airbus for 105 aircraft. This step aligns with our national strategies under Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to connect 250 destinations and facilitate the travel of over 330 million travelers and 150 million tourists by 2030”.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry added: “Saudia Group’s A330neo order for flyadeal marks a key step in advancing the Kingdom’s aviation ambition to unlock long-haul markets and attract new customers. The A330neo’s proven versatility, new generation efficiency, and excellent passenger experience will perfectly support Saudia Group’s strategic growth and solidify their position as a global aviation leader. We look forward to seeing the versatile champion fly in flyadeal colours.”

Airbus reported that as of March 2025, more than 130 customers have placed over 1,800 firm orders for the A330 Family. The aircraft model continues gaining ground among carriers seeking to expand their networks. Every A330 aircraft is already equipped to operate using up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel, with a plan to reach 100% SAF readiness by 2030.

With this A330neo order, Saudia Group continues to work toward expanding long-haul access while meeting broader sustainability goals. The latest deal reflects flyadeal’s move toward serving new destinations with more fuel-efficient aircraft while maintaining strong performance and comfort.
