Emirates Adopts Airbus Skywise Fleet Performance+

Emirates is set to enhance fleet efficiency with the adoption of Airbus’s Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+), an advanced predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring system. The airline has signed an agreement with Airbus to integrate this technology, along with the Core X3 analytics platform, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve operational reliability. Ahmed Safa, Head of Emirates Engineering, and Laurent Negre, Vice President of Customer Services at Airbus Africa and the Middle East, formalized the partnership.

Skywise Fleet Performance+ provides real-time aircraft performance monitoring, allowing Emirates Engineering to detect potential issues mid-flight and plan maintenance actions ahead of time. The system is designed to optimize dispatch reliability and improve decision-making for the airline’s Airbus A380 and A350 fleet.

“Adopting Airbus’s Skywise Fleet Performance+ is a step forward to support our Airbus fleet, harnessing the latest advancements, and transforming traditional maintenance activities into streamlined, precision-led processes that optimize our time in the skies,” said Ahmed Safa, Head of Emirates Engineering.

The Core X3 analytics platform further strengthens Emirates’ fleet management by consolidating vast amounts of data into a single, user-friendly interface. This integration enables multiple teams to access real-time insights, supporting smoother operations and reducing downtime.

Enhancing Aircraft Monitoring and Maintenance

Skywise Fleet Performance+ features automated pre-departure checks, monitoring key systems and cabin conditions to ensure smooth flights. It also integrates Aircraft Condition Monitoring System (ACMS) data, providing predictive diagnostics with real-time alerts and solutions.

Emirates Engineering continues to implement advanced digital technologies to improve fleet availability and efficiency. The airline is also working on drone-assisted aircraft inspections and exploring virtual and augmented reality applications for maintenance tasks.
