Emirates will begin a daily nonstop flight between Dubai and Hangzhou on July 30, marking the airline’s fifth destination in the Chinese mainland. This expansion strengthens Emirates’ presence in East Asia, connecting Hangzhou with other key cities already served, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
This new service will operate using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with three classes. Each week, Emirates will offer 2,478 seats on the route. Flight EK310 will leave Dubai at 9:40 AM and land in Hangzhou at 10:00 PM. The return flight, EK311, will take off from Hangzhou at 12:10 AM and arrive back in Dubai at 4:55 AM.
The flight schedules are designed to offer smooth transfers to and from 38 cities in Europe, 22 in Africa, 11 in the Middle East, as well as Brazil and Argentina. This includes convenient links to cities such as Istanbul, Barcelona, Cairo, and Johannesburg, creating more options for both business and leisure travelers.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “Launching a new Dubai-Hangzhou route marks a pivotal moment in our operations in the Chinese mainland and broader East Asia region. As an emerging global hub for innovation, e-commerce and advanced manufacturing, Hangzhou will open doors to new opportunities for our passenger and cargo operations, further strengthening the vital economic and technological exchanges between the Middle East and China.”

He further shared, “The addition of a fifth gateway in our Chinese mainland network will not only enhance connectivity for travellers but also offer businesses efficient access to and from key East Asian markets. This expansion is part of our global growth strategy and positions Emirates as the preferred airline when linking the world to the Chinese mainland’s thriving economic corridors and beyond. We extend our gratitude to the local authorities for their valuable support of this strategic new route and look forward to collaborating closely towards our shared goals of enhanced global connectivity.”
Hangzhou’s expanding digital and business presence
Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province, is quickly growing into a global tech and innovation center. It is home to Alibaba Group and leads in areas like e-commerce, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. The city’s digital economy plays an important role in China’s economic growth. In 2024, Hangzhou’s core digital industries brought in more than AED 1 trillion, or 2 trillion Chinese yuan, making up 28.8% of the city’s GDP.
Hangzhou is also a cultural destination, offering travelers a mix of history and modernity. Tourists can explore the UNESCO-listed West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda, the Imperial Street of the Southern Song Dynasty, and the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City. At the same time, the city’s digital exports are expected to exceed AED 70 billion (140 billion Chinese yuan) by 2026, reflecting its rising role in global trade.

The Emirates Boeing 777-300ER flying to Hangzhou will include 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 Economy Class seats. Passengers will have access to the airline’s inflight entertainment system, ice, with more than 6,500 channels in over 40 languages, including Chinese. The onboard menu will also feature popular Chinese dishes and desserts.
On the cargo side, Emirates SkyCargo will support the movement of goods between the UAE and China. The new route will help reduce delivery times and provide reliable service for products such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, perishables, and e-commerce shipments. This new link will help move items faster and more efficiently between China and regions like Africa, Latin America, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Starting July 30, Emirates will operate 49 weekly flights into the Chinese mainland. These include twice-daily flights to Beijing and Shanghai, daily flights to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and now a daily service to Hangzhou. This continued expansion reflects the growing partnership between the UAE and China. The Dubai-Hangzhou route offers a direct connection for businesspeople, investors, and tech professionals traveling between growing markets and one of China’s most dynamic cities.
