Cebu Pacific passenger count rises to 2.3 million in April

Cebu Pacific reported strong performance in April 2025 as passenger volume increased to 2.3 million. This marked an 18.3 percent rise from the same month in 2024. The airline also recorded a seat load factor of 83.8 percent, backed by a 20.1 percent expansion in overall seat capacity.

The airline noted that domestic travel saw steady growth during the month. Cebu Pacific carried more domestic passengers in April 2025 compared to April 2024, growing by 13.8 percent. This rise came as domestic seat capacity rose by 17.3 percent. These domestic flights had a seat load factor of 85.7 percent.

Cebu Pacific also saw a large increase in its international passenger numbers. International travel climbed 32.2 percent in April 2025 compared to the same period the year before. International seat availability grew by 27.7 percent, and the seat load factor on international flights improved by 2.7 percentage points to 79.0 percent.

Steady growth continues through 2025

From January to April 2025, Cebu Pacific carried a total of 9.2 million passengers. This reflects a 24.2 percent increase from the 7.4 million passengers during the same four-month period in 2024. Of these, 6.8 million passengers flew on domestic routes while 2.4 million traveled on international routes.

Domestic passenger numbers rose by 24.2 percent in the first four months of 2025, and international passenger totals rose by 24.3 percent. During this time, the airline increased seat capacity by 23.6 percent, totaling 10.9 million seats. The average seat load factor from January to April stood at 84.6 percent.

Mark Cezar, Chief Financial Officer of Cebu Pacific, said the company remains focused on adapting to current demand. “Passenger traffic performance remains strong with continued growth in passenger volumes and high seat load factors. International passenger numbers have increased by over 32% year over year, outpacing capacity expansion. These positive trends reinforce our favorable outlook for the second quarter. We are committed to optimizing our capacity to meet the rising consumer demand while managing engine and supply chain challenges,” he said.

Cebu Pacific continues to monitor the demand trends across both domestic and international routes. The airline said it aims to match its growing seat capacity with rising demand. At the same time, it is working through supply and engine availability issues as it plans for the next quarter.

The steady increase in both passenger traffic and seat occupancy rates in the first four months of 2025 shows a continued pattern of demand. Cebu Pacific has kept its momentum as travel picks up across key routes.
