The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) in Cebu is a beautiful facility that deserves more flights. It is an award-winning airport that offers a positive experience for passengers, far surpassing that of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Fortunately, air traffic to and from MCIA continues to rise. Just today, Cebu Pacific reported that it carried over 5.6 million passengers to and from Cebu in 2024, accounting for nearly half of the total 11.3 million passengers at MCIA. This increase reflects the airline’s efforts to provide more travel opportunities and enhance connectivity across the Philippines and beyond.
The airline saw a 34.7% rise in flights in January 2025, reaching 4,824 from 3,580 in January 2024. Seat capacity also grew by 51.6%, increasing from nearly 473,000 to over 717,000. The expansion aligns with Cebu Pacific’s goal of making air travel more accessible, particularly in Central Visayas.
Supporting Growth in Central Visayas
“Cebu Pacific’s continued growth in Cebu reflects the strong demand for affordable and accessible air travel in Central Visayas. By increasing our flights and seat capacity, we are not only connecting more passengers but also supporting tourism, trade, and economic opportunities across the region,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Currently, the airline operates direct flights from Cebu to 24 domestic and six international destinations. These routes connect passengers to various key cities in the Philippines, along with select international locations from MCIA.

Cebu Pacific domestic routes from MCIA include Manila, Boracay, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, and Puerto Princesa, among others. International destinations served from Cebu include Bangkok, Hong Kong, Incheon, Tokyo, Osaka, and Singapore.
Expanding Accessibility Through Promotions and More Routes
Cebu Pacific continues to offer seat sales and special promotions, allowing travelers to explore new destinations at affordable rates. The airline’s growing network and commitment to service make air travel more convenient for passengers.
With operations covering 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific remains a key player in providing accessible flights for passengers traveling within the Philippines and beyond.
