Cebu Pacific Expands Maintenance Partnership with AAR

Cebu Pacific has entered into a long-term partnership with AAR to enhance its aircraft maintenance operations. Under this agreement, AAR will provide nacelle maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for Cebu Pacific’s A320 fleet, which operates with the CFM56-5B engine. The work will be carried out at AAR’s Component Services facility in Chonburi, Thailand.

Jim Berberet, AAR’s Senior Vice President of Component Services, expressed confidence in the expanded collaboration. “We’re proud to expand our relationship with Cebu Pacific Air through this component repair agreement, where we will provide innovative and timely solutions for their CFM56-5B nacelles,” he said. “This agreement reflects the strong confidence that operators have in our cost-effective service offerings in the APAC region.”

AAR, a global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions provider, has operations in more than 20 countries. Headquartered near Chicago, the company delivers support through four key divisions: Parts Supply, Repair & Engineering, Integrated Solutions, and Expeditionary Services.

Cebu Pacific’s Ongoing Growth

Cebu Pacific has maintained a strong presence in air travel since its launch on March 8, 1996. With its “low fare, great value” strategy, the airline has flown over 200 million passengers. It operates the most extensive domestic network in the Philippines, serving 35 destinations, and offers flights to 25 international locations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.

Cebu Pacific partners with AAR

AAR has been working with Cebu Pacific for years, supplying engine material for CFM56-5B overhauls. The airline has also relied on Airinmar, an AAR subsidiary, for warranty management and repair cost oversight. The new agreement builds upon this existing relationship, ensuring continued improvements in aircraft maintenance.

Shev Weerasekera, Cebu Pacific’s Vice President of Engineering and Fleet Management, highlighted the importance of the partnership. “We are extremely pleased to be continuing our partnership with AAR. They share our values on maintenance quality and turnaround time, provided at a very competitive rate,” he said.

With this long-term agreement, Cebu Pacific reinforces its commitment to maintaining aircraft reliability and ensuring the highest standards of maintenance for its fleet.
