Cathay Pacific will launch its first-ever direct flights to Munich on June 16, 2025. The service will operate four times a week, marking Munich as the airline’s second destination in Germany alongside its existing daily flights to Frankfurt. This new route aims to connect travelers directly between Hong Kong and one of Europe’s key business and cultural hubs, offering seamless onward connections through Cathay Pacific’s home base and its partner airlines.
Munich is renowned for its rich history and as an important center for manufacturing, transportation, and business in Europe. Travelers flying between Hong Kong and Munich will now benefit from non-stop service, providing greater ease for both business and leisure trips.
Cathay Pacific has also announced the return of its direct flights to Brussels, starting on August 3, 2025. Brussels, a major European political and cultural hub, will once again be linked to Hong Kong through this service, which connects Asia and the heart of Europe. The route offers convenience for travelers looking to explore or conduct business in Belgium.
Both the Munich and Brussels routes will be operated using Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Passengers can choose from three cabin classes: Business Class with fully flat beds, Premium Economy for added space, and Economy Class for comfortable travel.
Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau expressed her enthusiasm for these new routes, stating, “We are very excited to be adding Munich to our network for the very first time as well as returning to Brussels next year, making these our 10th and 11th destinations in Europe, respectively. Hong Kong is a world-class international financial, commercial and aviation hub, and these flights will provide our customers with a direct connection between our home city and two of Europe’s important centers.”
Serving Europe for Four Decades
The airline has a long-standing commitment to serving Europe, having operated non-stop flights to the region for over four decades. Lau further noted, “We remain very committed to this important market. In addition to launching these two routes, we are delighted to be adding more flights on our other European routes next summer, providing even greater choice and convenience for our customers traveling between Hong Kong and the continent.”
Cathay Pacific will increase its total weekly return passenger flights to Europe to 93 by summer 2025, compared to the current 78. This includes flights to destinations such as London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, and Zurich, with seasonal services to Barcelona and Madrid continuing as well. The new Munich and Brussels routes complement these offerings, providing even more options for passengers traveling between Asia and Europe.
Flight Schedule
The Munich service will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Flights will depart from Hong Kong at 1:10 AM and arrive in Munich at 7:55 AM. Return flights from Munich will depart at 2:00 PM, landing in Hong Kong at 6:55 AM the following day.
Meanwhile, flights to Brussels will initially operate on the same four days of the week, departing Hong Kong at 11:35 PM and arriving in Brussels at 7:05 AM the next morning. Return flights from Brussels will leave at 4:15 PM and land in Hong Kong at 9:45 AM the following day. From August 13, 2025, minor adjustments will be made to the Brussels schedule, including later departure times from Hong Kong.
In addition to passenger services, Cathay Cargo will operate seven freighter flights weekly to and from Europe in summer 2025. This ensures that the airline continues to play a vital role in supporting global trade and logistics.
By the end of 2025, Cathay Pacific and its low-cost subsidiary, HK Express, will collectively serve 100 destinations worldwide. Travelers flying from Europe to Hong Kong can enjoy seamless connections to 19 destinations in Mainland China and numerous other cities across Asia-Pacific through Cathay Pacific’s extensive network.
