Cathay Pacific is elevating its dining offerings at The Pier, First class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport through an exclusive partnership with Mott 32, one of the most awarded Chinese restaurant brands worldwide. This collaboration brings a refined selection of contemporary Chinese dishes to travelers, reinforcing Cathay Pacific’s commitment to exceptional service both in the air and on the ground.

Passengers can now enjoy a carefully curated tasting menu from Mott 32, which has been available on rotation since January 21, 2025, alongside the lounge’s monthly à la carte options. The menu embraces a balance of seasonality and flavor, offering travelers an authentic taste of Hong Kong’s rich culinary heritage.

With locations in Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Singapore, Dubai, Toronto, Bangkok, Seoul, and Cebu, Mott 32 continues to expand its presence internationally. Upcoming locations include Los Angeles, London, Scottsdale, Budapest, Riyadh, Manila, Bali, and Melbourne. The brand is known for modernizing traditional Chinese recipes passed down through generations while maintaining the essence of authentic flavors.

A Menu Designed for the Lounge Experience

Mott 32 Co-Founder Xuan Mu explained the thought process behind the menu selection. “For this partnership, we’ve carefully crafted a menu that reflects the essence of Mott 32 while tailoring it specifically for Cathay Pacific’s discerning guests. Featuring signature favorites like our crispy crab meat puff and Sichuan-style dumplings, alongside new creations inspired by Hong Kong’s culinary diversity, each dish has been reimagined to suit the elegant lounge setting. We focused on delivering an authentic yet innovative experience that embodies the harmony of traditional techniques and contemporary flavors — just as Mott 32 has always done.”

Passengers can begin their meal with an amuse-bouche such as crispy mushrooms with green beans and sesame, chilled tofu with roasted green chili sauce, or the crispy crab puff. Starters include a Sichuan-style free-range chicken with Sichuan peppercorn and chili sauce, hand-wrapped Sichuan pork dumplings with chili sauce, and free-range chicken with black truffle and coriander.

For the main course, guests can enjoy braised wagyu beef with aged tangerine peel, which combines rich, tender beef with a citrus-infused sauce. Other choices include crispy black cod with golden garlic and chili, featuring a crunchy crust and a fragrant blend of garlic and spice, and pan-fried prawn with pickled ginger and chili bean paste, offering a balance of savory and sweet flavors.

To complement the meal, the lounge offers a custom-crafted aperitif inspired by Hong Kong’s vibrant drink culture. The Hong Kong Iced Tea is a refreshing blend of tea and blackcurrant, elevated with tequila and Lillet Blanc, and finished with basil seeds for added texture.
