Air France expands CANAL+ entertainment on long haul flights

Passengers on Air France will soon enjoy an expanded entertainment experience as the airline launches a partnership with CANAL+ beginning May 1, 2025. Air France will offer a wide range of CANAL+ programs across all long-haul flights, including series, shows, comedy specials, documentaries, and content for children. This addition will build on the existing collection of movies that are already available.

Air France has partnered with CANAL+, a recognized leader in audiovisual content in France, to showcase French creativity to passengers traveling on long-haul flights. The airline has maintained its commitment to supporting French productions, ensuring that 30 percent of its entertainment catalog is dedicated to French films and television programs.

Passengers on Air France long-haul flights will soon have access to CANAL+ Creation Originale series such as The Embers, Of Money and Blood, and Versailles. The airline will also offer popular shows including En Aparté and stand-up performances by Laura Felpin and Roman Frayssinet. Content will include documentaries on travel, discovery, sports, and programs for younger audiences. Air France will expand further in June 2025 by offering content from CANAL+ Africa, including the series Niabla and the documentary series Enquête d’Afrique.

About 100 CANAL+ programs will initially be available on Air France long-haul flights in French, with subtitles and adaptations for the deaf and hard of hearing. Air France plans to update the entertainment options monthly by introducing twenty new programs, giving travelers fresh content throughout the year.

Air France and CANAL+ will jointly participate in the eighth season of CANNESERIES, the international series festival, scheduled at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes from April 24 to April 29, 2025. During the event, Air France will showcase its latest inflight screens with high-definition technology and the new touch-sensitive interface. Visitors to the festival will experience the inflight entertainment options available on Air France long-haul flights.

Celebrating the partnership at CANNESERIES

To celebrate the new partnership with CANAL+, Air France will organize a competition during the CANNESERIES festival, offering participants the chance to win air tickets and CANAL+ subscriptions. CANAL+ will also feature the premiere of its new Creation Originale series The Corsican Line and the US adaptation The Agency, based on The Bureau. Air France plans to add more new series featured at the 2025 CANNESERIES festival to its onboard offerings for long-haul flights.

Passengers traveling with Air France in all long-haul cabins already have access to over 1,500 hours of entertainment. The newest Air France cabins feature large 4K anti-glare screens with Bluetooth technology, allowing travelers to use their own headphones. A new touch-sensitive interface, available in 12 languages, improves navigation across the entertainment system.

The Air France entertainment selection includes over 310 films spanning classic cinema, recent international releases, French movies, and American blockbusters. In addition to films, travelers can choose from series, reports, documentaries, music, podcasts, destination guides, and children’s shows. A wellness section offers activities such as meditation and seated yoga. An interactive flight map and onboard camera are also available for passengers during long-haul flights with Air France.

Through this collaboration with CANAL+, Air France strengthens its commitment to promoting French and African audiovisual productions while offering passengers an expanded and refreshed entertainment experience across all long-haul flights.
